Mrs. Connie (Thornton) Davis, age 73, of Lake Butler, FL, passed away on March 7, 2023, at Haven Hospice in Lake City after an extended battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born on February 11, 1950, in Starke, FL, to Carl and Beulah Green Thornton. She grew up in Starke and was a 1967 graduate of Bradford County High School. In 1969, she met the love of her life, Joe Davis, and the two soon married and moved to Lake Butler. In 1970, Connie went to work for the Department of Corrections and was employed for 33 years until her retirement in 2003. After retirement she enjoyed staying home to be a Nana to her grandkids. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers, especially her roses. She also enjoyed fishing and being on the river. Connie loved to talk and never met a stranger. She was a member of Lulu Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Vernie, Cleo, Jimmy, and Joe Thornton, and Fay Albritton.
Mrs. Connie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joe Davis of Lake Butler; her daughter, Tiffany (Eric) Roseke of Lake Butler; grandchildren, Erica and Tifton Roseke of Lake Butler; numerous extended family also survive.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Connie’s life will be held on Saturday, March 11, at 10:00 am, at her church, Lulu Baptist Church, with Bro. Rick Wake officiating.
