Cohen Banks Hanson was born on August 5, 2025—a strong and sweet little boy, deeply loved from the moment he arrived. After three weeks of fighting bravely in the hospital, Cohen was called home to be with the Lord on August 26, 2025. Though his time on earth was brief, his life was ordained by God and filled with purpose beyond measure.
Cohen is dearly loved by his parents, Rachel and Eli Hanson, who entrusted him fully into the Lord’s care. He was cherished by his grandparents, Wesley and Karen Norman, and Brent and Malena Hanson; his aunts, Rosalea and Rebekah Norman; his uncles, Jude and Simon Hanson; and a large extended family, including many great-grandparents who held him in their hearts and now cling to the sure and certain hope of the resurrection.
Though Cohen’s earthly journey was short, his soul rests securely in the arms of his Savior. We rejoice that he now beholds the face of Christ—free from all pain, made whole by the mercy of God. In our sorrow, we find comfort in the covenant promises of God: that He is ever faithful to His children and holds even the smallest among us in His eternal embrace.
A service of remembrance and thanksgiving for Cohen’s life will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at Madison Street Baptist Church in Starke, Florida, with Pastor Lem Lane officiating. Together, we will praise the God who gives and takes away (Job 1:21), and who, in all things, remains eternally good.
