Celebration of Life
Fields of Grace
12:00 - 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
It is with a heavy heart that we remember Cody Mitchell Andrews, who left this world unexpectedly on February 27, 2026, at the young age of 17. Born on October 7, 2008, in Gainesville, Florida, Cody was a bright light in the lives of those who knew him. He spent his days in Lake Butler, where his kind demeanor and huge heart made him a beloved friend, son, and brother.
Cody's love for cooking was evident, especially in his knack for whipping up delicious sauces, including teriyaki and sweet and sour, that would make anyone's mouth water. An enthusiastic gamer, Cody enjoyed spending time with friends, navigating virtual worlds and engaging in adventures that matched his love for thrill with escape rooms and roller coasters. He also had a taste for the spooky side of life, often indulging in scary movies that would make others jump.
Academically, Cody was a straight-A student at Union County High School, right where he also showcased his ambition through participation in the Health and Sciences program. His dreams were big, aiming for a future in the medical field. Demonstrating determination, he embraced dual enrollment classes at Gateway College in Lake City, all while working part-time at Little Caesars in Lake City.
Cody leaves behind his loving parents, Mitch and Angie Andrews, and his sister, Riley Andrews, who will cherish his memory forever. He is also survived by his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his cherished grandparents, Bobbie Andrews and Patricia and Dan Salyers. Cody is preceded in death by his grandmother, Sherry Andrews.
All are invited to a Celebration of Cody's Life which will be held on March 7, 2026, at Fields of Grace in Lake Butler, Florida, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Union County High School Health and Science Program @ Attn: Julie Denson, 1000 S. Lake Ave., Lake Butler, FL 32054.
