Catherine Marie Mathis

Catherine Marie Mathis, born on June 11, 1952, in Macclenny, Florida, passed away on September 11, 2025, at HCA North Florida in Gainesville, Florida. 

After graduating from Baker County High School, Catherine had various jobs throughout her life, however, what pleased her the most was being a wife, mother, and GG. She also took immense joy in her personal life. Catherine was an avid gardener with a special passion for nurturing her plants and creating an inviting space for nature. She found great delight in feeding the birds and watching them flock to the many feeders around her home, drawing joy from the simple beauty of life.

She leaves behind her companion for over 50 years, George Mathis; her son, Bobby Giles (Mary) and her beloved grandchildren, John and Lily Giles, who brought abundant joy to her life. 

Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Gracie Raulerson, and her daughter, Beth Leanne Mathis, and her sister, whose memory will always be cherished.

The family invites friends to pay their respects during the visitation, which will take place on September 16, 2025, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Archer-Milton Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Pine Grove Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery, starting at 2:30pm, located at 15105 NE County Road 199, Raiford, FL 32083.

Catherine will be remembered for her caring spirit, her dedication to her work and family, and the love she shared with those around her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
