Brenda Lee Strickland's Obituary

Brenda Lee Strickland, a cherished member of the Union County community and beloved by all who knew her, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026. Born on April 8, 1949, in Vermont, Brenda was a beacon of happiness and kindness throughout her 76 years. She was known for her warm spirit and the way she consistently put others before herself, embodying a life of selflessness and joy.

Brenda spent the last 53 years of her life as a proud resident of Union County, Florida, where she became a familiar and treasured figure. She was a devoted member of the Wellspring Church of Lake City, where her faith and community involvement were deeply meaningful to her.

Among her personal interests, Brenda had a passion for collecting silver. For about 18 years, she enjoyed not only gathering these precious items but also engaging in their sale, a hobby that brought her both joy and a unique connection to her community.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, James Strickland, who stood by her side through life’s many chapters. Brenda was also the proud mother of Roy Harden and his wife Melinda, Keith Harden and his wife Theresa, and John Harden along with his wife Samantha. She was also the proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her sister Mona Boyd as well as a host of nieces and nephews, remains a close family and support, carrying forward Brenda's legacy of warmth. Brenda’s family remembers fondly her children Peter Harden and Kathlene Harden, as well as her sister Sandra Rowdy, all of whom have passed before her, leaving cherished memories that endure.

Family, friends, and all whose lives Brenda touched are invited to gather for visitation on April 9, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Archer-Milton Funeral Home, located at 55 N Lake Ave, Lake Butler, FL 32054. This will be followed by a funeral service at 3:00 at the same location.

Brenda Lee Strickland’s life was a testament to the power of happiness, generosity, and steadfast love. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her survivors and all who were fortunate to know her. She will be remembered with the deepest respect and affection.
