Betty Joyce Howard

Betty Griffis Howard, 81 of Glen St. Mary passed away Saturday, November 22 2014 at her home. Mrs. Howard was born on September 30, 1933 in Wellborn, Florida to the late Samuel Griffis and Catherine Cribbs Griffis. She lived most of her life in Hamilton County before moving to Baker County in 1979. Mrs. Howard loved to dance and listen to gospel music. She also enjoyed sitting on her front porch to pass time by. Mrs. Howard is preceded in death by her husband Robert Howard.

She is survived by her daughters: Ann Finley (Ray) of Lake City, Marilyn Johns (Virgil) of Glen St. Mary, and Cathy Orman (Don) of Starke; Sons: Kenneth J. Brannen (Dawn) of Missouri, William Rhoden (Diane) of Glen St. Mary, David Rhoden of Tennessee, Joseph Fennell (Dana) of Tennessee, Gene Fennell (Lisa) of Cuyler; Brothers: Willie Griffis of Sanderson; Sister: Myrtle Johnson of Valdosta; Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Howard will be held Friday, November 28, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Watertown Congregational Methodist Church in Jacksonville with Rev. Randy Ogburn officiating. Burial will follow at Olustee Cemetery. Family invites friends for a visitation Friday, November 28, 2014 an hour prior to the funeral service.
