Betty Lou Halle

March 16, 1928 — May 30, 2023

Lake Butler

Betty Lou Halle, passed away at the age of 95 in her home, surrounded by her loving family on May 30, 2023. She was born on March 16, 1928, in Ashland, OH to the late Laurence and Camelia Herbrand. Betty spent most of her life serving various institutions in different capacities and was devoted to her hobbies and interests. Betty dedicated several years of her life to working for the Sheriff's office in Daytona Beach. Later she worked for the State Board of Accountancy in Gainesville. Her final calling was at the Union County Public Library, where she thrived in her role. When she wasn't working, Betty loved nothing more than curling up at home with a good book or two. Her love for reading seemed endless, and any recommendation from her was always worth taking up.

Betty's passing has left a void that will be felt deeply by all who knew her. However, everyone who knew and loved Betty can also attest to the fact that she lived a full life bursting with friendships, accomplishments, and little victories over hurdles along the way.

Those who were closest to Betty included daughters: Nancy Purdy of Holly Hill and Sandra Brown of Alachua; son: William "Larry" Kelly Sr. and his wife, Darlene of Lake Butler; and grandchildren: Samantha, Sabrina, William Jr., Martin, and Damaryce.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of the Union County Public Library for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the library in Betty's honor. Arrangements have been entrusted to Archer-Milton Funeral Home. 386-496-2008 www.archerfuneralhome.com

"Mourn For Me"

Given & Inspired by Divine gift from God!

Mourn for me,

But not for long!

For your life too,

Must go on!

Life is fragile,

And so dear,

It was my pure pleasure,

To be so near!

So when you shed

A tear or two,

Just remember,

I loved you, too!

Please, don’t hang on,

And let me go.

Sweet Jesus called me home,

And I must go!

I’ll be here waiting,

For your call too,

So please don’t be,

So down and blue!

So, mourn for me,

But not for long!

For your life too,

Must go on!
