On May 11, 2023, Betty Grace Crawford passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Betty Grace was born December 7, 1923, in Bartow, FL to Mattie Mae and Bradley Taylor. She moved to Union County in 1936 where she met the love of her life, St. Claire "Red" Crawford. The two were married July 26, 1941, and went on to have 12 children before his death in 1974.
She was a founding member of Blackwelder Memorial Baptist Church in Worthington Springs and remained an avid and dedicated member until her passing. Her greatest wish was that her family find and accept the Lord and serve him.
She was known for her loving devotion to her family, her quick wit, her admiration for flowers, enjoyment of puzzles, and her passion for Jesus.
She is preceded in death by her husband "Red", her son Billy Crawford, her daughter Linda-Kay Jones, her granddaughters, Tammy Grammer and Landa Yester, four brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by her brother, James Taylor and two sisters, Becky Stone and Virginia Benton. Her children Wayne (Pauline) Crawford, Mary-Sue (Benny) Adams, Barbara (Bill) Sefcik, H.G. (Connie) Crawford, Pat (Chuck) Kuhr, Charles (Susie) Crawford, Larry (Joyce) Crawford, Martha (Bill) Stein, Lester Crawford, and Kim (Rodney) Barnett. Her son-in-law, Paul Jones and her daughter-in-law, Gail Crawford. Her 35 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
A service to honor Betty Grace's life will be held at 2:00pm on May 16, 2023, at Archer-Milton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Ft. Call Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Rev. Sid Baker, Rev. Bobby Clyatt, and Rev. Barry Hedrich.
