Mr. Aubrey Glen Smith, Jr. age 55, of Lake Butler, passed away peacefully Monday morning August 12, 2013, at the MacClenny Nursing and Rehab Center after an extended illness. Mr. Smith was born in Ridgecrest, California o March 28, 1958, to Aubrey Glen Smith, Sr. and Carolyn Shelton. Mr. Smith attended and graduated from Union County High school in 1979, he was a long distance truck driver for many years. Ms. Smith loved to read and was well read in what he was reading; he also was a Civil War and World War II history buff. He loved to read about the planes used during World War II and could tell you practically anything about any of the planes. He had his own way of doing things and never met a stranger. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his sister: Stephanie Frear. Mr. Smith is survived by his mother: Carolyn Shelton of North Carolina; father and step-mother: Aubrey G., Sr. and Frances Louise Alford Smith of Lake Butler; daughter: Audra Glyn Hanusek (John) of San Francisco; brothers: Jeff Smith of Lake Butler, Terry Smith of North Carolina and Marcus Frear of North Carolina. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Smith will be conducted on Thursday August 15, 2013, at 11AM in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Lake Butler with Rev. Roger Worton officiating. Internment will follow. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00AM (30 minutes prior to the service) at the gravesite.
