Mr. Gregory Lloyd Baker, age 56, of Lake Butler, Florida passed away on August 29, 2019, at the University of Florida Shands Hospital in Gainesville. He was born in Pompano Beach, FL on February 5, 1963, to the late Gordon Baker and Mrs. Mary Alice Nobles Baker. Greg was raised in Ft. Lauderdale and moved around until finally settling in Lake Butler in 2008. He drove a truck for Pritchett Trucking for 25 years until his health forced him to retire in 2014. His passion was racing, especially drag racing. He also enjoyed watching football games and loved to eat. He is preceded in death by his step-son Ryan Moore; his father; and his step-brother, Jim Akins.
Mr. Baker is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Melanie Vallerchanp Baker of Lake Butler, FL; two sons, Christopher and Wyatt Baker both of Bell, FL; granddaughter, Reilee Baker of Bell, FL; step children, Michael Fernandez of Brooker, FL, Misty (Glenn) Lilly of Lake City, FL, and Ronnie Moore of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Lisa (Owen) Thornton of Glen St. Mary, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
