Evelyn Ann Croft, 86 of Lake Butler Florida passed away peacefully on October 19, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Lacrosse, Florida to the late Ezell and Bessie Shaw James. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilford W. Croft, her daughter Carol, a granddaughter Sarah, her son Kenneth Croft, brothers Woodrow, Frank and Junior.
Evelyn graduated from GHS in Gainesville, she enjoyed playing basketball and she would get in trouble for playing after school and not going straight home. She went to work at GE at night and worked her way to Secretary before going to work at the DOT Lake City office where she started as a clerk and retired in 1994 as Personnel Manager.
Evelyn and Wilford enjoyed traveling during their retirement years which included trips to Alaska and going through the Panama Canal. Her favorite place was on Honey Bear Mountain where she and Wilford spent many summers enjoying friends, cooler weather and the gorgeous view from the deck.
The family would like to thank the Hospice caregivers Nancy and Amy. They would also like to thank Jeanette who made the families last week much easier
She is survived by her children: Brenda (David) Newsom, Billy (Brenda) Croft and Bob (Jane) Croft
Her daughter-in-law: Linda Croft
9 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren
Sister: Betty Bryan
Many Nieces and Nephews

Funeral Services will be held on October 22, 2016 at 11:00AM at the Providence Village Baptist Church with Rev. Dax Summerhill officiating, a visitation for friends and family will begin at 10:00 am one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request everyone donate to Haven Hospice in Lake City.
